If you are anything like me, this year has totally gotten away from you.
One minute we were looking into the abyss of the summer holidays wondering what on earth we would do to entertain our little darlings for 6 whole weeks and now it’s almost October…
OCTOBER?!
So, if you had planned on updating the family photos this year and are now fretting that you’ve missed the boat, I am here to tell you that all is not lost.
Yes, summer photoshoots are lovely, but you know what, Autumn family photo sessions are fab too – and here’s why…
1. The Colours
I honestly think that Autumn is my favourite season. Who doesn’t love the colours in Autumn?! The reds, the oranges, the golden-brown leaves – JUST GORGEOUS!! No need for studio backdrops or Photoshop here...nature really does provide the most stunning backdrop.
2. The Clothes
I have to say that Autumn might be the easiest season to dress for. You don’t need to worry about melting in the summer sun and its not so cold that you need a coat.
There is something about Autumn which just makes you feel all cosy.
It is the perfect time to dig out those jumpers and cardigans, accessorise with hats and scarves, embrace the gorgeous layers and textures and grab your boots (Oh I have missed my boots!)
3. Fun!
Whether its running through the leaves or throwing them high in the air, collecting sticks or going on an acorn hunt, there is something about Autumn that brings out the kid in all of us.
4. Killing two birds with one stone….
I hate to be *that* person but once Autumn comes along its only a matter of time before everyone starts mentioning the C word…
One of the best things about a family session at this time of year is that photographs always make a beautiful and thoughtful gift….so just think:

It really is a no-brainer!
