I’m not going to lie…

This will be the last Mum in Business feature for 2025 (because to say that December gets craaaaaaaazy for everyone would be an understatement!)

So, I’d love to end the year by introducing you to one final (and absolutely lovely) Mum in Business – Corrina Beasley.

Corrina is a Kent Mum-of-two, Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist and the proud owner of Corrina Beasley Therapy.

I was lucky enough to spend a lovely morning with Corrina in her (absolutely beautiful!) private treatment room in The Spring Rooms, Tunbridge Wells.

We caught up over a cuppa and a scone (had to be done!) chatted all about her beautiful business and why she is so passionate about helping mums stress less and helping children feel calmer and more confident with expert, down-to-earth support.

Tell us about your business and what services you offer

I’m a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist based at The Spring Rooms in Tunbridge Wells - I also work with clients online all across the UK from the comfort of their own homes (pyjamas and slippers absolutely allowed).

I support both mums and children with anxiety, overwhelm, phobias, bedtime fears and emotional regulation, using a unique blend of CBT, Clinical Hypnosis, Mindfulness and Breathwork.

It’s a 360° approach - because emotional challenges rarely exist in isolation.

A child’s anxiety affects the parent.

A parent’s overwhelm affects the child.

My work takes three main forms:

• 1:1 solution-focused therapy

• Workshops & group programmes - Some are designed to help parents support their children, like my upcoming Emotional Regulation for Children workshop (starting Monday 17th November). Others are just for mums who want to feel calmer, more confident and more in control.

• Free and accessible support - Because I know 1:1 therapy isn’t always possible for everyone. That’s why I host a podcast called The Naptime Sessions, write a blog and regularly share free resources, calming audios and practical tools to make support more widely available.

What do you offer your clients that no one else does?

What my clients often say they appreciate most is that my sessions feel deeply therapeutic - but never clinical or intimidating. It’s the warmth of a genuine, honest chat, paired with practical strategies you can actually use in day-to-day life.

My approach is solution-focused - we don’t just talk about what’s hard, we set goals and actively move towards them. Whether that goal is calm bedtimes, managing anxiety, or feeling more in control emotionally, every session is geared towards progress.

My blend of Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy allows us to work with both the conscious thoughts you’re aware of and the subconscious patterns that drive your reactions.

Clinical Hypnosis - or as I like to call it, imagination therapy - is simply a way of helping the mind rehearse calmer, more helpful responses.

Although I work with either mums or children individually, I always consider the wider picture.

If I’m working with a child, I’ll give parents tools and guidance to reinforce the work at home. If I’m working with a mum, I’ll offer strategies that support her in managing her child’s emotions too - without adding more pressure. It’s not about treating everyone at once - it’s about strengthening the system gently, one step at a time.

Above all, I offer a space where people feel safe to be completely themselves - no judgement, no “performing wellness,” just honesty, compassion and the support to grow.

Where does your inspiration come from?

My inspiration comes from two places: my own burnout and my children.

Motherhood was the most beautiful thing that ever happened to me, but it also shook me to my core. I tried so hard to be the “good mum” -  holding it all together, never dropping the ball. Until my body finally threw one for me and I ended up in A&E with heart palpitations and an irregular heartbeat.

It wasn’t a heart problem - it was anxiety dressed as resilience.

When I went looking for support, I just struggled to find a style of therapy that truly fit me. I didn’t want to sit in years of analysis - I wanted practical support that would actually help me get better. Something solution-focused, grounded and human. I found some therapy quite daunting and clinical and it inspired me to create a space that is warm and real. A place that says “I get it - now let’s find a way through this.”

But my biggest driving force? My girls.

I’ve been that mum awake at 2am, googling “how to help my child through big emotions without making it worse,” scrolling through conflicting advice and desperately wanting to do the right thing.

I’ve felt powerless watching them struggle - and nothing motivates change more than that.

That’s why I do what I do now.

I want mums to get support sooner, without shame or formality. And I want children to grow up learning how to understand and manage their emotions - not fear them.

Because my dream isn’t just to help people cope - it’s to help them feel capable. Calm shouldn’t be a mystery. Emotional resilience shouldn’t be something you discover at 35 in therapy - it should be taught early, practised often and celebrated boldly.

That’s what inspires me. Every single day.

What is your favourite part of your job?

It’s watching the light come back on in people.

Sometimes it’s subtle - a softer voice, a deeper breath, a glimmer of hope where there once was panic. Other times it’s huge - someone doing something they once thought was impossible.

I love seeing people surprise themselves with their own strength.

Seeing someone who once felt utterly lost suddenly say, “I think I can do this.”

Watching families communicate better.

Hearing that a child is finally settling at bedtime independently. Knowing a mum responded with calm instead of shame.

But what I love most is witnessing those “aha” moments - when something clicks. When someone suddenly understands why they’ve been feeling the way they do and how to change it. When a simple technique or piece of non-jargon information gives them back a sense of control.

I don’t think of what I do as fixing people. I just help them see what was already there - strength, calm, resilience - waiting to be accessed.

Watching that spark return? That’s everything.
