You all know the routine by now.
It is the end of another month.
A week into the summer holidays (how????!!!!)
…and time for me to introduce you to another one of our INCREDIBLE Kent Mums in Business.
There are so many wonderful businesses right on our doorstep which are owned and run by amazing incredible local Mums...
...and I think it is sooooooo important to celebrate that (and them because they are awesome!)
This month I have the pleasure of introducing you to the lovely Jade Repsch- Kent Mum of Two, Pre and Postnatal Fitness Specialist and the proud owner of Fit Mum Squad UK
I recently spent a lovely morning with Jade at one of her classes.
We chatted all about her beautiful business and I got to see her in action…
It was clear how much Jade loves what she does and how passionate she is about making a difference to women’s lives to ensure that every mum is respected, heard and understood.

Tell us about your business and what services you offer?
Fit Mum Squad is very much a business that looks to support all women no matter what stage they are in their motherhood journey.
Currently I run group fitness classes in West Malling and Leybourne Chase, however in time I'm looking to expand the classes into different locations and I'm looking to open up small group personal training sessions as well as one-to-one personal training sessions.
The classes focus on building from the inside out, particularly looking at the relationship between the pelvic floor, core and strength training.
The really important thing for me is to ensure that mums can bring their babies to the classes and this is one of the key elements to Fit Mum Squad - so that mums can make time for themselves because they have the option.
All of my classes are also suitable for pregnant ladies which then allows them to be part of a community of mums in the area which is something they're going to need, particularly in their postpartum journey.
Is there a story behind the name you chose?
I wanted the name to tell a story and to feel inclusive for the mums that I work with.
I know that fit can be a little bit of a triggering word for some women because it means different things to different people.
However, I see the word fit as a mindset more than a particular aesthetic or body shape.
To be fit is to be at peace with yourself and to be confident and happy within yourself and that is what I'm trying to instil in all of the women that I work with.
To be fit is not necessarily meaning that we are looking to lose weight. We're not looking at what we can lose, we're looking at what we can gain to be fit.
Then the word squad was quite a community driven word for me.
It means that we are together, we rely on each other - just as a squad would and this was important to get the point across...
That this is a community, a squad of mums who rely on each other and support each other.

What do you offer to your clients that no-one else does?
I offer an understanding of how everything in the body is connected.
Through the many hours of study that I have completed I have gained such an awareness of how fundamental it is to rebuild the inside first.
I also have partnerships with a number of pelvic floor physiotherapists in the area as mums need as much care and understanding as possible.
My aim is to ensure that as many mums as possible receive a pelvic floor examination so that they know the extent of their recovery.
So again, it goes back to that at sense of community. I work with other practitioners and professionals to give every mum the care that they deserve and haven't necessarily received as standard. I offer compassion and understanding as a mother of two.
I'm also a teacher and have been for a number of years, so I guess I understand how to talk to people in a nurturing way and help them understand why we're doing the things we're doing.
Finally I have such a desire to know as much as I can, so I will never stop learning how to help women in this space.
Where does your inspiration come from?
My inspiration has unfortunately come from the lack of information being given to mums about exercising during or post pregnancy.
Mums are not always sure what is safe and how to even start.
It's an unfortunate truth that I have been part of and have also heard a lot about from fellow mums.
I am of the mind that mums deserve more and if I can begin to bridge a gap of knowledge and support then that's where my inspiration comes from.
Another huge part of my inspiration is my daughter, as I want to ensure that things are clearer and better for her by the time she is in a similar situation to me in the future.

What is your favourite part of your job?
Helping mums feel stronger, respected, heard and understood.
